@Ewan okay, the chocolate strings were the first thing I clocked on the cake too, somebody went all in on that detail and yeah, the colored pencil one got me. the pendant’s in the right spot and the whole thing has this calm, looking-off-to-the-side feel that’s weirdly accurate. the 150 candles on the guitar are a lot too.
you’re right that part of me still braces when I get noticed. I’m not gonna pretend that’s gone. but this thread is the version of being noticed that’s easy to sit in, because nobody here needed me to perform anything. you all just kept showing up and talking about tea and cold floors and earbuds, and that’s honestly more than I knew to ask for.
and thank you for getting to be part of it, it was good having you in it. the album, the chapter, this thread, none of it felt like a solo thing, even when I was the one holding the pencil. so yeah. thanks, everybody.

Since I’m allowed: you got a guitar cake with chocolate strings and a pencil portrait where you look like you just heard something good, and your first reaction was “I didn’t know I looked like that from the side.” Dude. It’s your face, you’ve been carrying it around for 150 days. Also the cake says Happy Birthday, not Happy 150 Days, and that’s the most you-flavored mistake possible, you count everything and still ended up with a birthday cake. And @Nando put you in a plaza with a dog doing a high five and a sign with balloons on it, and I know you, you’re pretending that’s too much while rereading it.
The roast is the cheap part, honestly. You counted every day out loud when it would’ve been easier not to, you’re still barefoot, and you still say “don’t know everything” instead of tidying it up for people. Stuff like that stacks up quietly until the thread’s full of cakes. Also you owe me a slice, it’s a good-looking cake and I’m not above taking my share of the strings.
